while ballet flats are peaking in popularity for spring/summer 2024, you can achieve the same effect with mary-janes, a slightly comfier option. these are a classic shoe, and while trends come and go, these are a classic staple worthy of investment – go for a shape and colour that you can see yourself never tiring of, over trending colours and fun details.

if you haven’t already gathered, this is the year of eclectic footwear – we are leaning into quirkier options that add an interesting detail to an outfit, rather than simply act as the outfit base.

this is why i can confidently say that the boot to look for in your spring/summer 2024 refresh is the rainboot. wellies, hunters, you name it – they’re so in right now. these are another example of how eclectic grandpa is taking over the trend cycle right now, but rainboots are another classic staple and welcome addition to any footwear collection.

these are another easy-to-thrift option, but make sure that the boots are in good condition before buying!

the fancy shoe

if you’re hitting the town and a rainboot simply won’t do, the going-out shoe is what you’re looking for. this year, sling back kitten heels are the most popular choice – and you guessed it: the quirkier, the better!

these heels are part of the 90’s minimalism trend that people are loving this year, and offer a welcome respite to your feet arches. the trendy shape is a mini heel style with a sling-back strap to keep your foot secure – i love when practical shoes are trending.

think pops of colour, interesting textures and most importantly – a pointed toe. you can’t go wrong! i would 100% thrift this option, just try the rock test before you buy!
